Bambi is a party girl. She's the life of every one thrown, and she's the last person to leave — if life is a party, then she never wants it to end! She dabbles in drugs as a poor coping mechanism for trauma early in life, and is always eager to find a new partner to join her in bed. Bambi's frequently found laughing or throwing shade at the "plastic" people around her. She looks down on people that try too hard to project a perfect image of themselves. She thinks flaws are what make a person beautiful — largely because she struggles with hiding her own. Bambi tends to mother her friends and is often hypocritical in seeking out the best for them while ignoring advice that would better her own life.
Traits
- Compassionate - All it takes is a glance from Bambi for her to know you've had a bad day. She'll sit you down, feed you a sweet, and make the day about you. No muss, no fuss. No need to talk about what's getting you down. She's more concerned with getting you in a better place than knowing whatever secrets you're keeping close to your chest.
- Competitive - While not a sore loser, Bambi will work her damnedest to achieve the best results possible. When she has a goal in mind, she can best be described as fervent, foregoing sleep and food until she's satisfied.
- Contradictory - Bambi has plenty of advice to hand out, but little that she'll follow through with for herself. For a myriad of reasons, Bambi is best known for her self-destructive tendencies and while she'll scold friends for partying with the same ferocity she does, it always comes from the heart.
History
Up until she's thirteen, Bambi's had a relatively normal, if privileged, life. She grows up in a white suburban neighborhood, and her family is upper middle class. She has a mom and a dad, a seemingly perfect family that gets on well with each other. One day, when Bambi's mom goes away on a business trip, she gets into an accident on the way home while picking up a dress for Bambi. She dies in critical care, and on the way home from the hospital, her father turns into a monster. He blames Bambi for the accident and abuses her physically and emotionally, degrading her until she's in tears. She flees the house when they get home, hitting up school friends to climb into their bedroom window for a night to stay.
The next day, when Bambi gets home, her father is waiting for her. He breaks down into tears and promises his abuse will never happen again. It does. Bambi lives with her Jekyll and Hyde father, always switching between cruelty and blame before apologies stream out of him. Bambi suffers from CPTSD and feels obligated to keep his secret, she can't get away from her dad or be appropriately treated for mental illness without exposing him. For the next few years, Bambi feels compelled to reassure her father that she doesn't hate him, that she loves him, and it's okay. It's not.
To make up for these "mistakes", Bambi's father buys her whatever she wants. She need only let her gaze linger too long on something, and it's hers, she owns it. He works longer hours to be able to afford the extravagant spending sprees Bambi goes on, and it causes financial troubles. This doesn't stop Bambi from spending her fill or her father from allowing her to, but he takes it out on her during his rare, but explosive moments of temper. This goes on for years, with Bambi learning to cover her bruises with make-up and taking advantage of every spare amount of cash that is given to her.
When her father remarries, Bambi becomes even more of a mess. She's long-since given up pretending to keep it together. She gets the entire basement to herself, and it's remodeled into a small "home". Bambi invites boys and girls over to sate her need for companionship while attempting to cope with her abuse. This introduces her to hard drugs and booze, which she uses to quiet her mind. Her step-mother dislikes her from the beginning, and Bambi finds she takes every opportunity to twist the knife. They get into volatile arguments that escalate into physical abuse when Bambi claps back.
When Bambi turns 18, she disappears into the night with all the money she's been saving up over the years. She doesn't say goodbye, and she takes practically nothing with her except for the cash. It's enough to get her a trip across the country and into a local apartment where she settles down. She gets a job and uses it to fund her apartment until she gets into the local community college and moves to live in the dorms. Bambi throws herself into her work, and she manages solid passable grades between her partying and homework. She graduates with an average grade in general studies with a bachelors, and eventually winds up becoming a tattooist, which pays just enough for her to live semi-comfortably.
